Herzing University Earns Gold Status for Military Student Support

Founded by a Navy veteran, Milwaukee-based Herzing University has secured the 2026-27 Gold Military Friendly® School and Military Spouse Friendly School® designations. This recognition from publisher VIQTORY acknowledges the institution’s long-standing commitment to facilitating academic and career transitions for service members, veterans, and their families across the United States.

The university currently serves over 1,600 military-affiliated students, offering flexible online and hybrid programs in fields such as nursing, healthcare, and technology. These formats are designed to accommodate the transient nature of military life, allowing spouses and active-duty members to continue their education regardless of their station or deployment status.

Herzing maintains a specific focus on workforce integration, notably through its bridge programs that fast-track military medics and paramedics into registered nursing careers. As a Yellow Ribbon institution, the university provides tailored financial aid, including reduced tuition rates and the Herzing Military Appreciation Grant, to supplement GI Bill benefits. University president Renée Herzing stated that these initiatives reflect the core mission established by her father, Henry Herzing, in 1965: translating the discipline of service into civilian professional success.
