The expanded mandate for LabX brings together DXC’s internal incubation work and its commercial AI partner ecosystem. Under the new structure, Grant will integrate the company's AI Platforms Engine, which manages partnerships with major tech providers including Amazon, Anthropic, and Microsoft. This consolidation is designed to accelerate the deployment of AI tools—such as Microsoft Copilot—by leveraging a workforce of tens of thousands of forward-deployed engineers embedded directly within customer environments.
Raul Fernandez framed the appointment as a strategic shift to separate high-growth AI initiatives from the firm's mature core business. By embedding technical experts directly into client operations, the company aims to move customers beyond experimental pilots and into full-scale production. Grant, formerly the Chief Operating Officer at the Long-Term Stock Exchange, joined DXC to lead its AI agenda and has been instrumental in establishing the open ecosystem approach that allows clients to select technologies tailored to their specific business requirements.
