AMD Secures 2.5 Gigawatt Infrastructure Expansion With Core Scientific

In a strategic bid to bypass the global bottleneck for AI-ready power and land, AMD has locked in a partnership with Core Scientific to secure up to 2.5 gigawatts of data center capacity. This agreement positions AMD to accelerate the deployment of its high-performance computing hardware across a massive new footprint.

AMD Secures 2.5 Gigawatt Infrastructure Expansion With Core Scientific

The collaboration centers on the integration of AMD’s Instinct GPUs, EPYC CPUs, and ROC software into Core Scientific’s physical infrastructure. The project is slated to deliver over 500 megawatts of U.S.-based capacity by 2027, with the potential to scale significantly as demand for specialized AI infrastructure intensifies.

Beyond technical synergy, the deal includes a financial component that grants AMD market-priced warrants to acquire shares in Core Scientific, contingent on specific commercial milestones. By aligning with Core Scientific, AMD aims to reduce the time-to-market for its enterprise customers, providing them with the necessary power and space to scale AI operations that have otherwise been constrained by limited infrastructure access.
