The combination, known as Bem/Rzr, achieved a 94% sustained virologic response rate, narrowly trailing the 95% efficacy recorded by the comparator treatment. Atea confirmed that the trial successfully met the criteria for statistical non-inferiority, with low and comparable rates of virologic failure observed across all patient populations. Secondary endpoints also aligned with these positive trends, reinforcing the drug's clinical profile.

Following the announcement, Atea shares rose 1.2% to $4.88 in premarket trading. The company intends to disclose comprehensive data from the global program at upcoming medical conferences, providing a clearer look at the long-term potential of this regimen.
