The combined business, which now employs over 250 people, brings together two regional contractors with specialized capabilities in transmission, distribution, and substation infrastructure. By merging Key Line and Palouse, the platform gains the scale necessary to perform both electrical and civil work, a rare combination for contractors in the Pacific Northwest. The company will serve a diverse client base—including investor-owned utilities and federal power agencies—across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California, and Utah.

Tank Parrish, CEO of Key Line, and Jeff Zimmer, President of Palouse Power, will lead the combined organization. According to Alex Shakibnia, Managing Director at Gemspring, the move is designed to capitalize on long-term secular growth in the utility sector, driven by aging infrastructure and the rising power requirements of data centers. Piper Sandler advised Gemspring on the transaction, while McDermott Will & Emery provided legal counsel.
