Cognizant Stock Jumps 10% Following Upward Guidance Revision

A 10% surge in share price greeted Cognizant investors Wednesday morning after the IT services firm raised its full-year earnings forecast. The jump to $55.45 reflects market confidence in the company’s pivot toward artificial intelligence infrastructure and data modernization as it scales its workforce to meet shifting industrial demands.

Cognizant Stock Jumps 10% Following Upward Guidance Revision

Chief Executive Ravi Kumar S. credited the improved outlook to organic revenue growth hitting the high end of internal projections. The company now anticipates adjusted diluted earnings between $5.70 and $5.82 per share for the 2026 fiscal year, signaling a push to help clients close the so-called AI velocity gap through deep engineering and reskilling initiatives.

Financial results for the second quarter showed net income reaching $636 million, or $1.36 per share, against $645 million in the prior-year period. While adjusted earnings of $1.37 per share narrowly missed the $1.38 consensus estimate tracked by FactSet, revenue hit $5.48 billion, aligning perfectly with analyst expectations and marking an increase from the $5.25 billion reported a year ago.
