Sieyuan Hertz Deploys 420 kV RIP Bushings for Greek Power Grid

Seventeen 280MVA/400kV power transformers in Greece are now operating with high-voltage bushings manufactured by Jiangsu Sieyuan Hertz Instrument Transformer Co. The installation marks a significant deployment of the company’s resin-impregnated paper technology within a critical component of the European national grid infrastructure.

The project team selected the company’s dry-structure bushings to meet stringent safety and low-carbon requirements while ensuring the grid project remained on schedule. The delivery of the equipment was completed within a five-month timeframe, overcoming the technical challenges associated with adapting to local grid conditions. These bushings utilize an oil-free, gas-free design, which provides inherent protection against fire and explosion risks while reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.

Jiangsu Sieyuan Hertz, a subsidiary of Sieyuan Electric, maintains end-to-end control over its production cycle, from initial engineering to final testing. This capability allows the manufacturer to produce bushings capable of handling voltage levels up to 420 kV for this specific application. The successful integration into the Greek National Grid highlights the company’s strategy to expand its footprint in international power transmission markets, focusing on equipment modernization and support for energy transition projects.
