The campaign positions natural cork as a critical component of sustainable luxury, encouraging consumers to view their choice of closure as an extension of their personal values. By highlighting the material’s renewability and its role in a zero-waste lifecycle, the organization aims to influence purchasing habits among both the general public and industry trade partners. The strategy relies on digital advertising, social media, and strategic events to emphasize that the ritual of opening a bottle is intrinsically linked to the health of the planet.
Paulo Américo Oliveira, President of the Board of APCOR, stated that the organization is empowering consumers to recognize that true responsibility extends to the bottle itself. Beyond consumer experience, the initiative draws attention to the Montado—the cork oak forest—which serves as a vital biodiversity hotspot. These forests sequester approximately 14.7 tons of CO₂ per hectare annually without requiring the felling of trees. By choosing natural cork, the association argues that consumers actively support an ecosystem that provides shelter for over 350 plant and animal species.
