The Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation posted record financial results for the second quarter of 2026, driven by a 22 percent year-over-year surge in business volume. Farmer Mac reported core earnings of $58.8 million for the period ending June 30, 2026, marking a 24 percent increase compared to the previous year. This growth performance was complemented by a 22 percent rise in net interest income, which climbed to $118.1 million. The firm’s net effective spread also reached a peak of $117.4 million, supported by robust volume expansion and the recovery of interest on previously delinquent permanent planting exposure.

Zachary Carpenter, President and Chief Executive Officer, attributed the results to disciplined execution and the launch of the Farmer Mac Loan Exchange (FLX), a digital platform designed to modernize the agricultural mortgage market. The organization’s capital position remains solid, with a Tier 1 Capital Ratio of 13.2 percent, further strengthened by a $100 million issuance of Series I non-cumulative preferred stock during the quarter.
