Invesco Mortgage Capital Inc. reported a net income of $0.34 per share for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, marking a significant recovery from the $0.28 per share loss recorded in the first quarter of the year as the company navigated shifting interest rate expectations and geopolitical instability.

The Atlanta-based real estate investment trust managed a portfolio totaling $8.2 billion by the end of the quarter, comprised of Agency RMBS, Agency TBA, and Agency CMBS investments. CEO Kevin Collins noted that financial conditions improved despite volatility, with the company achieving an economic return of 3.8% compared to a negative 3.2% in the previous quarter. The firm maintained stability in its dividends, declaring a monthly common stock dividend of $0.36 per share, consistent with its first-quarter payout.

While U.S. Treasury yields rose throughout the period, Invesco benefited from favorable carry and contracting risk premiums across its mortgage-backed securities holdings. The company successfully increased its liquidity, reporting $548.3 million in unrestricted cash and unencumbered investments. Looking ahead, management maintains a constructive outlook for Agency RMBS and CMBS, citing compelling valuations and moderated inflation expectations as key drivers for the second half of 2026.
