Fujifilm Debuts GFX100RF: A Compact 102MP Medium Format Rangefinder

Fujifilm is shrinking the medium format footprint with the GFX100RF, a rangefinder-inspired camera that integrates a 102MP sensor into a portable, all-metal body. Designed for daily use, the device pairs a fixed FUJINON GF 35mm f/4 lens with the high-performance X-Processor 5 engine.

The new GFX100RF bridges the gap between massive image quality and street-ready usability. By housing a 43.8 x 32.9mm BSI CMOS II sensor—which offers 70% more light-gathering surface than standard full-frame alternatives—Fujifilm aims to bring medium-format depth and 16-bit color accuracy to a form factor that fits in a to-go bag. The camera features a native ISO 80 sensitivity and utilizes a leaf shutter for discreet operation, catering to photographers who prioritize detail without the bulk of traditional medium-format systems.

Functionality is further expanded through a suite of creative tools, including 20 built-in film simulations and an innovative aspect ratio dial that allows for rapid adjustments in the field. Despite its compact profile, the camera supports DCI 4K30p recording and includes an internal 4-stop neutral density filter. The hardware setup is rounded out by a 5.76m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a 3.2-inch three-way tilting touchscreen, available in both black and silver finishes.
