The latest intelligence report from registrar Dynadot highlights a volatile period for domain holders. The .digital extension staged a dramatic comeback, vaulting from 56th place into the top 10 rankings. Conversely, several previously high-performing extensions suffered precipitous declines, losing more than 97% of their market position.
Geographic activity also shows a stark disparity in growth rates. Asia accounts for approximately half of all global registrations, though its growth remains stagnant at 5%. In contrast, South America has emerged as a high-growth region, surging 269% from its smaller base. These findings, based on platform data and industry surveys conducted in April, suggest that retail buyers and institutional investors are increasingly diverging in their acquisition strategies.
