Appdome Launches Automated Mobile Security Validation

Testing mobile applications against generic device banks often fails to capture real-world user conditions. Appdome is attempting to solve this with Appdome Test, a new capability that integrates validation directly into the mobile protection pipeline, matching test devices and operating systems to a brand's actual install base.

The platform automates the verification process between the signing and deployment stages of the software development lifecycle. By utilizing production deployment data from Appdome ThreatScope, the tool provisions tests that mirror the specific environments customers use. This eliminates the need for manual device mapping or exporting secured builds to external infrastructure, which often creates bottlenecks in engineering workflows.

Appdome CEO Tom Tovar noted that shifting security left requires testing every time security code is committed to the CI/CD pipeline. The integration allows cyber and platform teams to participate in release validation, moving beyond simple policy selection to verify application behavior under stress, during updates, and across various device states. Principal Analyst Eric Newcomer of Intellyx highlighted that this approach reduces the cost of external simulation, which remains a significant hurdle for teams managing fragmented Android device ecosystems.

Results from these tests are automatically linked to the application's Certified Secure record and the Appdome Vault Compliance Center, providing a verifiable audit trail. The capability, designed to support AI-driven delivery models, will be showcased at Black Hat USA 2026 in Las Vegas.
