Cizzle Bio Partners With BioBridge Global to Expand Lung Cancer Screening

In an effort to widen access to early-stage lung cancer diagnostics, Cizzle Bio has struck a strategic partnership with San Antonio-based BioBridge Global. The agreement designates BBG Advanced Therapies as a CLIA-certified laboratory partner, tasked with deploying the CIZ1B biomarker blood test to healthcare providers throughout South Texas.

The collaboration hinges on the validation of the CIZ1B assay, a laboratory-developed test rooted in over three decades of research at the University of York. BBG Advanced Therapies has already launched the independent validation process required to meet federal quality standards for the test, which has previously demonstrated 95% sensitivity for Stage I detection. By integrating this biomarker technology into its laboratory operations, the partnership aims to offer a minimally invasive diagnostic tool that complements standard low-dose CT screenings.

For Cizzle Bio, the deal marks a significant milestone in a broader, phased national strategy to establish a network of high-quality laboratory partners. CEO Bill Behnke emphasized that the move addresses the critical need for earlier intervention in regions facing high cancer burdens. BioBridge Global leadership echoed this sentiment, noting that the combination of their regulatory compliance and lab infrastructure with Cizzle Bio’s proprietary technology is designed to move life-saving diagnostics from the research phase into routine clinical practice.
