Human Longevity Releases $599 Clinical-Grade Genome Sequencing

For $599, consumers can now access clinical-grade whole genome sequencing that maps all 6.4 billion base pairs of their DNA. Human Longevity, Inc. launched the product this week, aiming to shift genomic testing from limited specialist programs to a widely accessible tool for proactive health management.

Unlike ancestry-focused consumer tests that examine less than 0.02% of a genome, this offering provides 30x depth coverage. The data identifies risks across 10,000 genetic variants and highlights pharmacogenomic markers that dictate how patients respond to common medications, such as statins and GLP-1 receptor agonists. Users receive insights through the company's app without needing an in-person clinic visit.

A key differentiator is the platform's ability to re-analyze existing genomic data as medical research evolves. Because an individual's genetic code remains static, the system continuously updates its findings against new clinical guidelines and disease-gene associations. When a relevant discovery occurs, the company proactively notifies clients within 24 hours of publication.

This initiative integrates with the company’s broader AI infrastructure, which includes the recently formed Human Life Foundation Models, Inc. Developed alongside Insilico Medicine, this entity utilizes data from over 10,000 previous clients to build longevity-focused AI models. According to Chairman and CEO Wei-Wu He, the objective is to provide actionable information that fosters earlier awareness and personalized care, rather than making deterministic predictions. The company, founded in 2013 by Dr. J. Craig Venter, maintains a scientific advisory board that includes Nobel laureates Dr. Geoffrey Hinton and Dr. Michael Levitt.
