Codis Acquires Catalent Nottingham Site to Scale Spray Drying Reach

Codis has finalized its acquisition of Catalent’s Nottingham facility, merging the site’s oral solid dose expertise with the company’s existing commercial infrastructure. The move establishes a unified supply chain for pharmaceutical developers, spanning from early-stage clinical production to large-scale commercial manufacturing across the United Kingdom.

The integration brings two decades of formulation and analytical experience from the Nottingham team into the Codis portfolio. By combining these capabilities with the company’s ongoing expansion in Haverhill—where a new GEA Pharma-SD® PSD-4 spray dryer is set for validation in 2027—Codis aims to streamline the development pathway for poorly soluble molecules. This consolidation allows clients to bypass fragmented outsourcing by housing development, clinical supply, and final oral dose manufacturing under a single quality system.

CEO Nicolas Fortin noted that the acquisition creates a uniquely integrated route for customers seeking greater speed and continuity in drug production. Matthew Streeter, formerly of the Nottingham site, will join the Codis executive team to oversee the transition. According to SVP of Sales and Marketing Steve Facer, the expanded network offers the most comprehensive spray dry service currently available in Europe, significantly reducing risk for companies navigating the complexities of advanced particle engineering.
