Pinch A Penny Taps Retail Veteran John Mansfield as President

After hitting the 300-store milestone and expanding into the Southwest, the nation’s largest pool care franchise is shifting its leadership. John Mansfield, a veteran of multi-unit retail and consumer brands, will take the helm to modernize operations and refine the support systems for the company’s independent franchise owners.

Mansfield arrives at the Clearwater-based company with two decades of experience in brand building and service management. His mandate centers on a dual approach: preserving the localized service model that has defined the brand for over 50 years while integrating new digital tools to improve efficiency. This transition follows a period of growth that saw the brand enter Arizona and North Carolina in 2025, effectively broadening its footprint beyond its traditional Sun Belt stronghold.

The company is currently scaling its technical infrastructure to match its physical expansion. Recent investments include the proprietary Pinch CleanPro platform, which automates inventory, water analysis, and service routing, alongside the exclusive SunBlazer equipment line. These tools are designed to bolster the performance of existing locations, which averaged roughly $1.95 million in annual gross sales as of late 2025. As demand for residential pool maintenance remains consistent, Mansfield plans to pursue disciplined growth in select markets, targeting operators who can maintain the brand's established service standards.
