SecureSpace Expands Washington Footprint with Rockville Acquisition

Two multi-story facilities at 4 and 44 Research Place have joined the SecureSpace portfolio, marking a strategic entry into the affluent Rockville, Maryland corridor. The combined properties add 127,000 square feet of storage capacity to the company’s regional network, situated directly along the high-traffic Interstate 270 artery.

The newly rebranded SecureSpace Rockville comprises 1,454 units spread across two adjacent buildings constructed in 2016 and 2020. The site serves a dense submarket where the median household income reaches $127,000 within a three-mile radius, capturing visibility from a daily commute of 219,000 vehicles. While the facilities offer a range of unit sizes from 5x5 to 10x30, the company is prioritizing climate-controlled interior options alongside select drive-up access.

Renovations are currently active to align the site with the brand’s premium technical standards. Upgrades include a contemporary redesign of the leasing office and the integration of proprietary AI-enabled surveillance systems. Despite the ongoing site improvements, operations continue uninterrupted for existing and new customers, who can manage unit selection and leasing through the company’s digital portal.
