Kent brings over 30 years of insurance leadership to the role, having previously served as both COO and CEO at Independence Pet Group, one of North America's largest platforms in the sector. At Odie, he will work directly with the founders to integrate the company’s technology, service, and claims infrastructure. CEO Miles Thorson noted that Kent’s experience in managing large-scale operations provides the necessary perspective for Odie’s current growth trajectory.

The transition comes as Odie focuses on broadening its embedded distribution and B2B reach. Kent described the company’s founder-led culture and its willingness to challenge legacy insurance assumptions as primary drivers for his decision to join the leadership team. His mandate includes strengthening relationships with carriers and capital partners while sharpening the firm's overall market execution.
