A survey of over 300 HR professionals reveals that the quality of the employee experience has become the decisive factor when selecting or retaining benefits providers. Roughly 73% of respondents identified employee feedback as their primary metric for evaluation, noting that confusion over eligible purchases, claims, and rollover rules frequently forces HR staff to act as an unplanned support desk. This administrative burden persists even as organizations manage broad portfolios including recruitment, payroll, and compliance.
To bridge this gap, HR leaders are demanding more than basic record-keeping. The data indicates that 55% of professionals view flexible benefit options as a critical improvement area, while over half prioritize simplified education and better technology. Dave Etling, senior vice president and general manager at InComm Benefits, suggests that the solution lies in simplifying the interface to reduce the reliance on HR as a default support channel. As the industry pivots, many firms are already integrating AI to streamline benefits training, with 57% of surveyed departments currently utilizing such tools to clarify complex policy rules for their workforce.
