Shoulder Innovations Raises 2026 Outlook After Revenue Jumps 56%

Grand Rapids-based medical technology firm Shoulder Innovations reported a 56% revenue surge to $17.2 million for the second quarter of 2026, prompting the company to increase its full-year guidance as it scales its surgical implant business amid growing demand from surgeons.

The company’s quarterly performance was driven by a 50% increase in implant system sales, totaling 2,238 units. To support this expansion, Shoulder Innovations successfully refinanced its debt, securing up to $50 million in new credit facilities through Stifel Venture Banking. This financial move provides the necessary liquidity to continue scaling operations and supporting a broader product pipeline.

CEO Rob Ball noted that the firm is capitalizing on an underpenetrated market, deepening engagement with its existing surgeon base. While operating expenses rose—largely due to investments in commercial infrastructure and R&D for robotic platforms—the company managed to improve its gross margin to 78.3%. Building on this momentum, leadership raised its full-year 2026 revenue forecast to a range of $67 million to $69 million.
