Casca Claims Tearsheet AI Product of the Year for Lending Innovation

San Francisco-based fintech Casca has secured the 2026 Tearsheet AI Product of the Year award, marking a shift in how banks approach small business lending. By replacing manual document verification with AI agents, the company has enabled financial institutions to slash loan processing times from months down to just a few days.

Small business owners historically face a paradox where banks have the capital but lack the efficiency to service smaller loans profitably. Casca’s platform bridges this gap by embedding AI agents directly into the origination process. These agents handle over 100 manual tasks, including thousands of document analyses and dozens of credit checks, while maintaining human oversight. This automation allows banks to convert manual workflows by up to 90%, fueling a 312% increase in lead conversions.

For the borrower, the platform simplifies a typically grueling experience into a 15-minute online application. Because the system operates continuously, 60% of applicants now submit their requests on weekends, sidestepping the constraints of traditional banking hours. Lukas Haffer, CEO and co-founder of Casca, noted that the platform was designed to align bank infrastructure with the real-time demands of entrepreneurs. Founded in 2023 by Stanford researchers and banking IT experts, the firm is now backed by investors including Y Combinator and Canapi Ventures.
