LaFontaine Automotive Group Expands Digital Reach to Amazon Autos

Michigan-based LaFontaine Automotive Group is integrating its network of more than 40 retail locations into the Amazon Autos marketplace. This move aims to blend the convenience of digital vehicle shopping with the company's traditional dealership model, allowing customers to browse, finance, and purchase vehicles through the e-commerce giant's platform.

The collaboration marks a strategic shift for the family-owned retailer, which operates nearly 60 franchises across the state. By listing inventory on Amazon, the group intends to simplify the purchasing process while maintaining the personalized service—branded as the LaFontaine Family Deal—that has defined the company since its founding in 1980.

CEO Ryan LaFontaine stated that the partnership is designed to meet customers in their preferred shopping environments without abandoning the human element of car buying. Barry Quinn, Director of Business Development at Amazon Autos, noted that the integration provides Michigan residents with local expertise backed by the efficiency of Amazon’s digital infrastructure. The initiative follows a broader industry trend of adopting omnichannel retail strategies to remove friction from the automotive transaction process.
