Peabody Energy Faces Class Action Over Centurion Mine Misstatements

Investors who purchased Peabody Energy stock between October 14, 2024, and May 4, 2026, are being urged to join a securities class action lawsuit against the company. The litigation centers on allegations that Peabody misled shareholders regarding production timelines and operational progress at its troubled Centurion mine.

The complaint filed against the coal producer alleges violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, specifically under sections 10(b) and 20(a). According to the filing, the company repeatedly issued false guidance to the market, claiming it could provide accurate production growth forecasts for the Centurion project. In reality, the mine faced recurring delays that were not disclosed to the public, leaving investors with an inaccurate picture of the company’s performance.

The DJS Law Group is currently soliciting shareholders who suffered financial losses to act as potential lead plaintiffs. Interested parties must file their applications by the August 24, 2026, deadline. While legal counsel emphasizes that serving as a lead plaintiff is not a prerequisite to participating in a potential settlement, the firm is seeking to consolidate claims on behalf of those affected by the alleged misrepresentations.
