Denice Ross, former U.S. Chief Data Scientist and co-founder of the project, emphasized that these terminations often occur without public notice, creating significant blind spots regarding issues like food security and public health. Christopher Dick, a former U.S. Census Bureau official and project co-founder, noted that monitoring these disruptions is technically challenging but vital for maintaining the nation’s ability to respond to climate risks, immigration enforcement, and maternal health needs.
