Elbit Systems Hits Record $32 Billion Backlog Amid Global Demand

Elbit Systems reported a record $32 billion order backlog for the second quarter of 2026, as the defense contractor capitalizes on sustained international demand. The company posted $2.3 billion in quarterly revenue, marking a significant increase over the previous year despite ongoing operational complexities in the Middle East.

The Haifa-based firm saw its GAAP net income rise to $173.6 million for the period ending June 30, up from $125.7 million in the same quarter of 2025. President and CEO Bezhalel Machlis attributed the growth to strong momentum across multiple segments, noting that 73% of the total backlog is now tied to orders outside of Israel. The company is currently scaling production infrastructure to meet these long-term commitments, with approximately 42% of the backlog scheduled for delivery through the end of 2027.

Financial performance across divisions was varied. Land systems saw a 32% revenue jump, driven largely by munitions sales in Israel, while the ISTAR and EW segment grew 22% on the back of increased demand in the Asia-Pacific region. Conversely, the Aerospace division experienced an 8% contraction due to shifts in project mix and reduced simulation sales in Europe. To manage ongoing geopolitical volatility, the company has bolstered its raw material inventories and implemented steps to protect its 21,000-strong global workforce. Looking ahead, the Board of Directors declared a dividend of $1.00 per share, payable in October.
