The company’s rapid ascent reflects the booming demand for infrastructure insurance as the U.S. faces a massive surge in data center and energy project development. By integrating real-time data from systems like Procore and Autodesk, Shepherd prices commercial risks up to 15 times faster than traditional carriers. This technical edge has allowed the firm to capture a significant portion of the market, including 10 of the top 10 contractors listed by Engineering News-Record.

Justin Levine, CEO and co-founder, attributes the growth to the trust placed in the platform by brokers and operators managing complex physical risks. Beyond its national ranking, Shepherd stands at No. 7 in the insurance category and No. 11 among San Francisco Bay Area honorees. With $67 million in total funding and over $500 billion in insured project value, the company is positioned to address the $10 trillion infrastructure investment projected for the U.S. through 2033.
