Redefine Alliance Launches $5.4 Million Economic Power Portfolio

Redefine Alliance has committed $5.4 million to launch a three-year research initiative involving eight employment social enterprises across the United States. The program aims to identify and scale workplace practices that move beyond simple job placement to foster long-term financial stability, individual agency, and generational wealth for workers.

The inaugural cohort includes organizations from New York to California, each selected for its proven ability to help individuals overcome significant barriers to employment. Participating groups include the Center for Employment Opportunities, Civic Works, Coalfield Development, Hopeworks, Neighbor to Neighbor, RecycleForce, RiseUp Industries, and the Women's Bean Project. Each organization is eligible for up to $675,000 in unrestricted grant funding.

Over the next three years, these enterprises will collaborate to codify methods that drive sustained economic power—defined by the alliance as the integration of work, wealth, and well-being. Whitney Lovell, Associate Director of Portfolio at Redefine Alliance, noted that the objective is to translate these on-the-ground experiences into actionable insights for the broader labor market. By documenting what works, the alliance intends to provide a roadmap for employers nationwide to better support employees in achieving lasting autonomy.
