Children's Miracle Network Integrates Charity Giving into Digital Banking

Credit union members will soon find charitable giving embedded directly into their mobile banking apps through a new partnership between Children's Miracle Network and Black Dragon Capital. The initiative aims to modernize fundraising by integrating donation portals into everyday financial activities at participating institutions nationwide.

The collaboration leverages payment technology from two Black Dragon Capital portfolio companies, PayOnward and Digital Joy, to create a frictionless donation experience. Instead of navigating separate platforms, members can contribute to local children's hospitals during standard login sessions or via QR codes placed at branch locations and community events.

Kristen Schavemaker, Chief Partnerships Officer at Children's Miracle Network, stated that the move aligns with the organization's goal to reach donors within their existing digital routines. Black Dragon Capital founder Louis Hernandez, a long-time advocate for pediatric healthcare, noted that the platform is designed to strengthen ties between credit unions and the families they serve. This shift builds on the long-standing 'Credit Unions for Kids' program, which has funneled hundreds of millions of dollars into pediatric research and equipment since 1986.
