Ryanair has locked in a five-year deal with Google Cloud to overhaul its digital infrastructure, deploying Gemini Enterprise and Google Workspace across its 35,000-strong workforce. The partnership aims to secure operational resilience as the airline aggressively scales its network to reach 300 million annual passengers by 2034.

The carrier is shifting to a dual-cloud strategy, utilizing Google Cloud’s AI platform to automate decision-making and streamline logistics for its sprawling fleet. By integrating Google DeepMind models like AlphaEvolve and WeatherNext, Ryanair intends to sharpen its maintenance scheduling and operational planning. The move serves as a hedge against system outages, allowing the airline to migrate critical services between cloud providers if one platform falters.

CEO Eddie Wilson emphasized that the technology must match the airline’s pace of growth and focus on efficiency. Beyond backend resilience, the rollout of Gemini Enterprise is intended to empower frontline employees with automated workflows and data-driven insights. For Google Cloud, the deal highlights the potential for generative AI to reduce operational costs at scale within the high-precision aviation sector.
