Neuralytix Expands Access to iD3 Nerve Monitoring System

Spine surgeons can now access the iD3 system nationwide, a platform designed to provide real-time, objective data on nerve function during decompression procedures. By transitioning from visual judgment to quantitative mechanomyography, the technology aims to address the persistent clinical uncertainty regarding the success of nerve relief during complex spinal operations.

The iD3 platform, which recently received FDA 510(k) clearance, functions as a surgeon-directed tool that eliminates the need for external neurophysiologists in the operating room. By integrating directly into existing workflows, the system utilizes mechanomyography to measure nerve response throughout the surgical process. This shift mirrors the diagnostic rigor found in cardiology, where functional stress tests complement anatomical imaging to ensure complete recovery.

Founder and CEO Christopher Wybo emphasizes that the device resolves the fundamental ambiguity surgeons face at the conclusion of decompression. While traditional methods rely on the surgeon's visual assessment of the nerve's surroundings, iD3 provides a measurable readout of the nerve's electrical conduction. Following a limited release in October 2025, the system is now accessible through the company's broader U.S. distribution network.
