DigiKey Offers $1,000 Shopping Sprees to U.S. Engineering Students

Five university students in the United States will secure $1,000 in electronic components as part of DigiKey’s annual Back to School Giveaway. The contest aims to support budding engineers by allowing winners to curate their own technical project kits using the company’s digital inventory tools.

Running from August 17 through October 12, 2026, the program requires participants to hold a valid .edu email address. To enter, students must create a DigiKey account and compile their desired components into a "My Lists" project file. Winners will be selected at random, with the final results slated for announcement by the end of October.

This initiative serves as a cornerstone of the broader DigiKey Education Program. Y.C. Wang, director of global academic programs, noted that the giveaway reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to assist students in labs and their future professional careers. By providing access to over 17.4 million components from more than 3,000 manufacturers, the distributor intends to lower the barrier for hands-on technical exploration.
