M/I Homes Clears $250 Million for Stock Buybacks

Columbus-based M/I Homes has authorized a new $250 million share repurchase program, replacing its previous buyback initiative. The homebuilder, currently celebrating its 50th year of operations, granted management broad discretion to execute the purchases through open-market or private transactions depending on prevailing economic conditions and share price performance.

The board of directors set no expiration date for the new authorization, allowing the company to modify or suspend the program at any time. Management will weigh business needs, broader market volatility, and legal requirements before committing capital to the repurchases. This financial maneuver follows a half-century of growth for the firm, which now maintains active homebuilding operations across 17 major markets, including key hubs in Texas, Florida, and the Midwest.

While the company remains one of the nation's prominent single-family homebuilders, it cautioned that future performance remains subject to external pressures. Risks identified by the firm include fluctuating interest rates, supply chain availability, and potential shifts in government trade policies or tariff structures. All forward-looking projections rely on current conditions, with no obligation for the company to update these estimates as the economic landscape evolves.
