Identiv Prepares for Asset Sale as Second Quarter Losses Narrow

Identiv, Inc. reported second quarter revenue of $5.7 million, a modest increase over the $5.0 million recorded during the same period last year. The Santa Ana-based firm is currently navigating a significant strategic pivot, having signed a definitive agreement to divest its IoT operating assets to Trackonomy Systems.

The company’s GAAP net loss narrowed to $4.7 million for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, compared to a $6.0 million loss in the prior year. This improvement stems from a shift in manufacturing operations to Thailand and the elimination of costs associated with a shuttered facility in Singapore. While RFID transponder sales provided a lift, management noted that macroeconomic headwinds have impacted consumer-facing demand, leading one major customer to pause orders until later this year.

Following the planned sale of its IoT assets, Identiv intends to transition toward a physical AI model through targeted compliance software acquisitions. In the interim, the board confirmed plans to return up to $40 million to shareholders, with stock repurchases set to resume before the Trackonomy transaction closes. The company has opted not to hold a conference call for these results as it focuses on finalizing the divestiture in the third quarter.
