The installation marks a tangible shift in MetaOptics’ expansion strategy, positioning the company within a shared-use ecosystem that supports over 1,400 members annually. The 100nm ultra-high-precision laser system is capable of simultaneously fabricating more than 100 metalenses, each measuring just 0.1mm in diameter. This equipment will function as a mini-foundry, enabling rapid prototyping for applications ranging from co-packaged optics to high-speed interconnects.
This deployment follows the company’s recent entry into Stanford Engineering’s SystemX Alliance Program. By placing its hardware inside the university’s facility, MetaOptics gains a direct pipeline for technical validation and user feedback. Executive Chairman Thng Chong Kim noted that the collaboration is intended to deepen the company's footprint within the local innovation ecosystem while providing a launchpad to scale production. Through this presence, MetaOptics intends to showcase its glass-based optical solutions to the program’s network of major U.S. technology firms.
