Investors Target Planet Fitness Over Alleged Securities Fraud

A class action lawsuit alleges that Planet Fitness misled shareholders between November 6, 2025, and May 6, 2026, by inflating the efficacy of its marketing strategies and botching a national price hike for its Black Card membership tier, according to a complaint filed by the DJS Law Group.

The litigation targets violations of the Securities Exchange Act, claiming the company issued materially false statements regarding its growth prospects. Specifically, the complaint asserts that Planet Fitness overstated its capacity to attract new members under existing campaigns while failing to manage the implementation of a key pricing strategy. Shareholders who sustained financial losses during this six-month window are now being sought to join the action as lead plaintiffs.

Investors have until September 14, 2026, to move for lead plaintiff status. While the DJS Law Group, led by David J. Schwartz, is spearheading the solicitation for participants, legal counsel notes that individuals do not need to assume a lead role to remain eligible for a potential recovery. The firm, which specializes in corporate governance and securities litigation, is currently managing the intake of claims from those affected by the company's performance during the specified class period.
