For years, private market activity remained shielded from the public eye, accessible only to a select circle of venture capitalists and high-net-worth insiders. As retail trading platforms increasingly seek to expand their offerings beyond public equities, demand for clear, actionable intelligence on growing private enterprises has surged. Benzinga’s latest tool aims to solve the data collection challenge by delivering standardized coverage of venture capital rounds and corporate developments directly into existing financial platforms.
The feed functions via a REST API, allowing brokerages and research firms to integrate private market insights alongside traditional public market data. By automating the aggregation and refinement process, the API enables users to monitor deal flow, conduct competitive research, and evaluate pre-IPO companies without investing in bespoke internal infrastructure.
"Private markets have always been hard to follow if you're not an insider," said Tommy Cotter, Head of Data Products at Benzinga APIs. This launch positions the company to capture the growing interest in alternative assets, providing the visibility necessary for analysts and investors to track companies long before they reach the public exchange.
