The investment is split between two organizations, Dogs Inc and Healing 4 Heroes, to ensure these teams maintain access to critical resources. A total of $35,000 will be directed to the Dogs Inc Alumni Support program, which provides post-placement guidance and training. The remaining $25,000 establishes the Embrace Veterinary Emergency Assistance Fund at Healing 4 Heroes, a resource designed to cover unexpected medical bills and support the rescue dogs currently entering the training pipeline.
This initiative aligns with a broader corporate commitment to the military community, where approximately 26% of Embrace policies currently utilize a military discount. The necessity for such funding is supported by clinical data: a National Institutes of Health-funded study found that veterans paired with service dogs experienced significant reductions in PTSD symptom severity, anxiety, and social isolation. For the veterans involved, the funding represents more than just a financial safety net; it provides the stability required to navigate daily life with their companions.
