Operating out of Grande Pointe, Manitoba, the Canadian firm produces its own ENVIROFREEZE low-charge ammonia chillers and RINK LINK remote ice-plant controls, which are already fixtures in high-level curling and arena facilities. According to IR Pros CEO Curtis Czemeres, the acquisition is focused on securing local engineering talent capable of managing mission-critical systems in harsh climates rather than simple geographic scaling.

Prairie HVAC/R will maintain its current leadership, branding, and personnel while leveraging the parent company’s shared resources to scale operations. The firms have committed to tripling manufacturing capacity in Manitoba over the next two years, with plans to hire 20–30 additional employees. For industrial clients—ranging from food and beverage processors to data centers—the merger provides a unified resource for mechanical integrity, automated controls, and energy-efficiency upgrades. Albert Steinbach, co-founder of Prairie HVAC/R, noted that the deal allows the company to pursue more complex regional projects while upholding its existing service standards.
