Ericsson Repurchases 2.5 Million Shares in Latest Buyback Push

Ericsson bought back 2.5 million of its own Class B shares between August 10 and August 14, 2026, spending approximately 241.75 million SEK. These transactions represent the latest stage in a larger 15 billion SEK capital return program designed to consolidate the company's equity structure before the 2027 Annual General Meeting.

The five-day buying window saw daily volumes peak on August 11, when the company acquired 1 million shares at a weighted average price of 95.76 SEK. By the end of the week, the total expenditure reached 241,754,225 SEK, with daily average prices fluctuating between 95.76 SEK and 98.14 SEK. All purchases were conducted on Nasdaq Stockholm through Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE, adhering to European market abuse regulations.

This activity is part of a broader buyback initiative authorized to run until March 31, 2027. Following these acquisitions, Ericsson holds 97,669,316 treasury shares. The company’s Board of Directors intends to propose the cancellation of these repurchased shares at next year’s shareholder meeting, excluding those earmarked for employee incentive programs. Ericsson currently maintains a total share count of 3,371,351,735 across both Class A and Class B listings.
