Wongs Jewellers’ Manchester Showroom Gains Industry Recognition

The Manchester showroom of Wongs Jewellers has earned a shortlist nomination for Store Design of the Year at the 2026 UK Jewellery Awards. The project, realized in partnership with Chinese firm DG Display Showcase, highlights the growing trend of integrating bespoke retail fixtures into a brand’s core heritage and spatial identity.

Wongs Jewellers, an independent retailer founded in Liverpool in 1979, expanded its footprint with the Manchester location in late 2025. The store’s design process moved away from standardized furniture, opting instead for a tailored environment that reflects the brand’s history of in-house craftsmanship. DG Display Showcase managed the end-to-end execution, including spatial planning, custom manufacturing, and international logistics.

Peter Wong, Managing Director of Wongs Jewellers, noted that the collaboration succeeded by embedding the company’s philosophy directly into the physical space. The project included a variety of specialized fixtures, such as island displays and wall-mounted cabinets, designed to guide customer circulation and enhance product presentation. Beyond the design accolades, the retailer secured wins for Bridal Jewellery Retailer of the Year and Jewellery Retailer of the Year at the July 8 ceremony in London. For the Guangzhou-based manufacturer, this recognition serves as a case study for its one-stop service model, which aims to bridge the gap between overseas luxury retailers and high-end, customized interior production.
