Tan will manage UOB’s fully-owned subsidiaries in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and mainland China, alongside branch operations in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Reporting directly to CEO Wee Ee Cheong, he is tasked with deepening regional connectivity and streamlining the bank's cross-border business framework.
A core component of his mandate involves leading the foreign direct investment advisory unit. This division acts as a bridge for companies navigating international expansion, linking them to local ecosystem partners and industry networks. The unit has already facilitated over 300 expansion projects in the last six months, representing a combined investment value of S$5.6 billion.
