Lab testing suggests the shift is paying off, with the company reporting a 2.6% improvement in running economy over the Vanish Carbon 2. The commercial impact is equally significant: parent company VF Corporation recently recorded a 45% revenue jump for Altra in the fourth quarter of 2026, with total annual revenue surpassing $270 million.

Retailing at $240, the Vanish Carbon 3 features a 40mm heel stack and a 4mm drop, adhering to World Athletics road racing standards. The design also incorporates a specialized eyestay system to secure the midfoot while leaving the signature wide toe box unobstructed for splay.
