Curative Adds Wellstar Health System to Georgia Network

Curative is expanding its footprint in Georgia by securing a partnership with Wellstar Health System, a major nonprofit network spanning 12 hospitals and 400 care locations. The deal integrates Wellstar into the insurer’s $0-deductible, $0-copay model, aiming to lower financial hurdles for patients across the state.

This agreement positions Wellstar as the primary provider for Curative’s Georgia members, granting them access to a broad continuum of care including oncology, cardiology, and pediatrics. Under the plan, members receive these services without out-of-pocket costs provided they complete a Baseline Visit. For Georgia employers, the partnership offers a strategy to stabilize rising healthcare expenses while connecting employees with an established regional provider.

Fred Turner, CEO of Curative, stated the collaboration challenges the industry trend of shifting costs onto families through high deductibles. Wellstar, which employs 35,000 team members and operates one of the Southeast’s largest physician networks, views the move as a way to enhance community access to care. Barbara Courey, Senior Vice President for Managed Care at Wellstar, emphasized that offering diverse payment options is essential to improving long-term health outcomes. The partnership marks a significant step in Curative's ongoing effort to build a statewide network of health systems that prioritize direct access and simplified benefit structures.
