Maxis Advisors Marks Three Decades of Strategic Site Selection

Thirty years ago, site selection centered on basic logistics and labor pools. Today, Patric Zimmer’s Maxis Advisors navigates a labyrinth of geopolitical risk, energy capacity, and complex incentive negotiations. As the firm celebrates its 30th anniversary, it reflects on a shift from simple advisory work to high-stakes corporate infrastructure strategy.

Founded in 1996, the Charlotte-based firm has evolved from a boutique practice into a specialized team managing site selection across 45 states and territories. Their track record includes facilitating over $16 billion in capital investment and securing $2.5 billion in negotiated incentives, which have collectively supported the creation of 30,000 jobs. Since joining Foundry Commercial in 2021, the firm has integrated these services into a broader property and investment management platform.

President Patric Zimmer emphasizes that while the tools of the trade have shifted toward workforce analytics and AI-driven modeling, the core of the business remains rooted in community relationships. Executive Vice President Jessica D'Annunzio, who manages the firm’s daily operations, notes that human interpretation of data remains the critical differentiator in an increasingly automated landscape. By adapting its capabilities to meet modern supply chain and infrastructure demands, Maxis continues to position itself as a primary intermediary between corporations seeking growth and the regions competing to host them.
