UB Community Development, a partner of United Bank, is spearheading the financing to transform the former Vanity Fair plant. The project aims to reverse the regional economic decline that followed the loss of 2,500 manufacturing jobs in the area. Once operational, the site is expected to support 56 permanent, full-time positions in skilled trades and production, while collaborating with Coastal Alabama Community College to build a local workforce pipeline.
Bad Boy Mowers, an Arkansas-based manufacturer of outdoor power equipment, will occupy the site to expand its national distribution network. For Monroeville, the redevelopment marks a significant industrial recovery effort. It follows a series of previous revitalization projects in the city, including hospital expansions and historic square renovations, supported by UB Community Development over the past decade. The firm has deployed $57 million into six regional projects so far in 2026, catalyzing roughly $290 million in total capital investment across the Southeast.
