Payments infrastructure is rapidly evolving from a purely software-based challenge into a capital-intensive necessity. Natural intends to utilize this financing to scale its credit products, anticipating that AI agents will demand capital at a velocity that far exceeds traditional human-led financial systems. The facility is structured to grow alongside the company's deployment, targeting a transition from millions to billions in credit capacity.
CEO and co-founder Kahlil Lalji emphasized that the partnership with Upper90 was selected for its long-term alignment with the company’s vision of agents as primary financial actors. This latest injection of capital follows over $40 million in previous equity funding from a broad coalition of investors, including Forerunner, Human Capital, and Brex. By building vertically across the payments stack, Natural seeks to enable AI agents to move money and transact programmatically without relying on legacy banking timelines.
