Pomerantz Law Firm Launches Investigation into Metropolitan Bank

A 9% slide in Metropolitan Bank Holding Corp. shares has triggered a formal investigation by Pomerantz LLP. The firm is scrutinizing whether the company and its executives violated securities laws following a second-quarter financial report that revealed missed revenue targets and a significant spike in credit loss provisions.

The inquiry centers on allegations of potential fraud or unlawful business practices at the New York-based financial institution. On July 21, 2026, Metropolitan disclosed that its provisioning for credit losses had more than doubled to $13.3 million. Management linked this jump to distress within a single commercial and industrial loan, alongside the charge-off of a commercial real estate asset.

Investors reacted sharply to the disclosure, driving the bank's stock price down by $8.88 per share to close at $90.19 on July 22. Pomerantz LLP, a firm specializing in securities class litigation, is now seeking to represent shareholders affected by the decline. Those holding Metropolitan stock are being directed to contact Danielle Peyton to discuss potential legal recourse regarding the company's recent performance and disclosures.
