Info-Tech Research Group argues that the industry is currently trapped in a cycle of fragmented testing. While companies deploy AI for route optimization, fuel management, and demand forecasting, these efforts frequently stall due to workforce resistance and a lack of clear alignment between technical tools and specific operational pain points.

To bridge this gap, the firm has released a four-phase blueprint designed to shift the focus from individual technologies to comprehensive business capabilities. The methodology mandates that leaders begin by diagnosing internal performance gaps before selecting AI applications. This process involves a rigorous assessment of organizational maturity across five dimensions: governance, data management, human capital, internal processes, and existing infrastructure. By evaluating these factors, leaders can prioritize high-impact initiatives that are feasible to implement rather than chasing speculative trends. According to Michael Adams, senior research analyst at Info-Tech, the goal is to replace disconnected experiments with a strategic portfolio that balances near-term wins with long-term digital transformation.
