The project features Husqvarna’s Automower 580L EPOS and 535 AWD EPOS models, which have been part of the club’s operations since 2022. By automating the upkeep of fairways and roughs, the course aims to achieve more consistent playing conditions while allowing staff to redirect their efforts toward higher-value landscaping tasks. The transition has been supported by SynaTek Solutions, which acts as a technical integrator for the site.

Superintendent Andrew Christesen noted that the shift has resulted in demonstrably healthier turf across the Michigan course. As Husqvarna looks to expand its footprint in professional sports turf management, this deployment serves as a live demonstration for other golf facilities considering autonomous technology. The tournament, running from August 20 to 23 in Ann Arbor, provides the high-profile stage needed to test these systems against the rigorous standards required for championship play.
